From the East
Take the Parkway East (Route 376) to Exit 7 (Edgewood/Swissvale). At the
end of the exit ramp, turn right onto South Braddock Avenue. Go approximately
two miles and turn left onto Penn Avenue. At the intersection of Penn
and Fifth Avenues, turn left onto Fifth Avenue. Continue on Fifth Avenue
until you reach South Aiken Avenue. Turn right onto South Aiken Avenue.
To park at the visitor
Parking Garage: After two traffic lights, the Visitor Parking Garage is
the second parking garage on the left. (The first garage is for hospital
employees only.)
To park at the Medical
Building Garage: At the third stoplight on South Aiken Avenue, turn left
onto Centre Avenue. At the first stoplight past the hospital, turn left
into the Medical Center Garage.
From the North
Take Interstate 279 South to Exit 8B (Route 28 North). Follow Route 28
North to the 40th Street Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue on 40th
Street to Liberty Avenue. Turn left onto Liberty Avenue and continue to
Centre Avenue. Turn right on Centre and then turn left at the first light
to the Medical Building Garage. Or continue straight onto South Aiken
Avenue and use the Visitor Parking Garage, which is on your right.
From Allegheny
Valley (Armstrong County, Fox Chapel)
Take Route 28 South to the Highland Park Bridge. As you cross the bridge,
get into the left lane and follow the Washington Boulevard ramp. As you
exit the ramp, remain in the right lane. Just before the traffic light,
veer right onto Washington Boulevard. Travel straight on Washington Boulevard
through four traffic signals (about two miles). At the fourth traffic
light, Washington Boulevard cross Penn Avenue and becomes Fifth Avenue.
Continue on Fifth Avenue to South Aiken Avenue. Turn right and follow
South Aiken to the Visitor Parking Garage, on the left or turn left onto
Centre Avenue. At the first light on Centre, turn left to the Medical
Building Garage.
From the South
(South Hills)
Take Route 51 North or Route 19 North through the Liberty Tunnels and
cross the Liberty Bridge. Take the Bigelow Boulevard exit and continue
on Bigelow to Centre Avenue. Turn left onto Centre Avenue. Use the Medical
Building Garage, on your right, or turn right onto South Aiken Avenue
and use the Visitor Parking Garage, on your right.
From the West (Airport
area)
Take Interstate 279 North and get into the right lane before you pass
through the Fort Pitt Tunnels. As you exit the tunnel, take the exit ramp
for Interstate 376 East (Monroeville). Follow Interstate 376 to Exit 2A
(Forbes Avenue/Oakland). Continue on Forbes Avenue through Oakland, and
turn left at North Craig Street (just after the Carnegie Museum of Art).
Turn right onto Fifth Avenue; continue on Fifth Avenue to South Aiken
Avenue. Turn left and follow South Aiken to the Visitor Parking Garage,
on the left, or turn left onto Centre Avenue. At the first light on Centre,
turn left to the Medical Building Garage.
